7/31/2020

We are pleased to announce four of our attorneys have been named to the Super Lawyers list as top attorneys in Oregon for 2020.  Each year, only five percent of the lawyers in the state are named.

Mark Wada has been listed for the fifteenth consecutive year in the specialty area of banking. He has more than 40 years of experience representing financial service providers in commercial loan and lease documentation, real estate financings, workout negotiations, and portfolio acquisitions.

Kim McGair was selected by her peers for inclusion for the second time in the area of business litigation; she was previously selected as a Rising Star in 2008, and 2010-2013. Kim litigates a wide array of matters, including business disputes, consumer law defense, personal injury defense, real estate litigation, employment law, and commercial collection. Over the past twenty years she has successfully arbitrated and tried cases for businesses and financial institutions. Kim has also assisted numerous clients in negotiating favorable resolutions to their disputes in all facets of business.

David Ludwig was selected by his peers in the area of business-corporate law for the first time. David has more than 35 years of experience representing small- and mid-sized companies and financial institutions handling complicated business and financial matters. He also handles real estate acquisitions, leasing and financing. David is Chair of the firm’s Business Practice Group.

Margot Seitz has been listed for the first time for bankruptcy-business law she was previously selected as a Rising Star 2015-2017. Margot represents parties in all types of insolvency matters. She advises banks, credit unions, equipment finance companies, creditors, trustees, and receivers in bankruptcy and receivership proceedings.  Margot is actively involved in the Oregon State Bar Debtor-Creditor Section. She is currently chair-elect of the OSB Debtor-Creditor Executive Committee and chair of the Newsletter Editorial Board.

In addition, Melissa Chapman has been named to the Oregon Rising Stars list, an honor bestowed on only 2 1/2 percent of the lawyers in the state. Melissa, whose practice focuses on litigation in business, trust and estate, and real estate disputes, has been chosen for the sixth time in the primary area of business litigation as one of the best attorneys in Oregon under the age of 40 or in practice for less than ten years.

We are proud that five attorneys in four distinct practice areas have been honored by their peers, highlighting the breadth of expertise in our full-service commercial law practice.
