Bio

A member of the Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Alaska bar associations, Spencer is originally from the Chicago area but moved to Oregon to attend law school. While in school, he clerked for the Clackamas County District Attorney on three high-profile murder-conspiracy trials. Coming from a family of lawyers, those that know Spencer will attest that he sought to be a litigator since grade school.

Spencer’s passion for finance and the law came about after he graduated college when he went on to study banking law as an undeclared graduate student at the University of Chicago, taught by esteemed professor Eric Posner. He was fascinated with the subject and committed to enroll in law school out West where his family had moved.

Spencer’s career as a lawyer reflects these experiences: he first worked for a national firm representing some of the country’s largest banks and credit-lending institutions in consumer collections lawsuits. Later, he spent three years handling creditor defense in complex mortgage-related litigation, representing loan servicers, investors, as well as the federal government’s lending institutions. Currently, his focus areas are in real estate litigation, bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, and general civil litigation.

A true believer in hard work and perseverance, Spencer became a lawyer for its challenges and his desire to help others with complex problems. He strives to give the best representation to each of his clients. In his spare time, Spencer enjoys the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest, camping, running, and spending time with his wife, Hannah, their jovial golden retriever, Franny, and their mischievous cat, Vito.
