Practice Summary

Ashley’s practice focuses on a wide range of disputes and litigation, including complex commercial, real estate, trade secrets, creditors’ rights and collections, employment, and intellectual property disputes in Oregon and Washington state and federal courts. Ashley also assists clients with technology and internet-related matters, including the defense of California Invasion of Privacy Act claims and digital brand protection.

Ashley is skilled at quickly assessing disputes from multiple angles to develop effective strategies early in the process, engaging in pre-litigation negotiations, and helping clients mitigate risk and avoid litigation whenever possible. When litigation is necessary, Ashley implements creative and effective litigation strategies tailored to her clients’ objectives. Central to her practice is balancing her clients’ goals with the controlling factual and legal issues in each matter.

Prior to joining Farleigh Wada Witt, Ashley worked as a commercial litigator at a Seattle mid-sized firm and two Portland-area mid-sized firms; she was also a member of the in-house legal team of a Portland-area loan servicing and asset management company. During law school, Ashley was selected as the Oregon State Bar Business Law Section’s Outstanding Corporate Law Student of the Year, awarded the Bates Family Scholarship for Business Litigation, and inducted into the Cornelius Honor Society.

Ashley stays active in her community by serving on the Oregon Women Lawyers’ Board of Directors, co-chairing the Oregon Women Lawyers’ Member Advancement Committee, mentoring undergraduate students through Portland State University’s Explore the Law Program, and volunteering as a pro bono attorney for low-income small and emerging businesses through Lewis & Clark’s Small Business Clinic.
